THE ENIGMA

 

It was a dark night around 11 pm when Duke , an owner of a factory went to his factory to load his products . Duke took his 15 year old son along with him so as to help him in the process as there were no labourers in the night . They did set all the products where they had to be placed . Then they had a stock check and decided to return . Until Duke made calculations , his son Zyan picked up a metal detector and just with the intention to play he swiped it over the floor . The detector started ringing as if it had detected the presence of metal under the floor . The sound was more intense this time than the normal one . Duke thought that since it sounded very intensely , there must be something really huge under the floor. He felt there may be some treasure buried inside the ground by some ancestors or anyone . Without even thinking once , he stated digging the floor . He dug and dug and after an hour her coukd see a big iron door . He thought there was something great . He , with the help of Zyan opened the door and they could see a dark room inside . Nothing was seen with their eyes just that they could get an idea that it was a huge room . Duke asked Zyan to grab a torch . Zyan got the torch and they both jumped inside the room underneath . They could only see things on which torch was focused . They randomly moved over the torches in order to see what the room held . While they did so , the torch focused in a corner where in there were stacks of something wrapped in a gunny cloth . There were around 30 to 40 of the wraps . Suddenly Zyan stepped on something which turned out to be a a classic silver bracelet . Out of excitement , Zyan wore that bracelet and kept it with himself without telling his dad . Duke went near to the stacks , opened them and to a surprise , they found out dead bodies in each and every gunny bag . Suddenly they saw one of the dead body moving and it got up and sat it front of them . It was bleeding and looked very ugly and haunted . Both of them got frightened and they started running randomly here and there . Zyan climbed upstairs and he locked the door from above without even knowing that his his dad was inside . Having seen that Zyan had shut the door , Duke kept running in the entire room , randomly so as to keep away from the creature .Randomly , Duke came and hit some other door . Out of fear , he opened the door swiftly and ran out of there . He walked a little in a gully like place until he could find another opening . He rushed and finally found a opening on his head , on the ceiling . He opened the door and just climbed up with help of the ladder which was already there . The other opening of the room underneath was in the backyard of the Duke's neighbouring bungalow . In that bungalow , there lived a 23 years young girl , Rozy , all alone as she was deprived of her family ; apart from this the girl was mute and deaf . Duke was stunned to see the other opening in her backyard . Duke rushed back to his home softly , so as no one should see him  and there firstly he yelled at Zyan for leaving him there all alone . Secondly he called the cops and gave them the information about the things they had discovered and the strange thing happened . The cops visited his factory after some time . They examined the whole thing and entered the room found out by Duke and there to a surprise they could not see and dead bodies as narrated by Duke.  The cops were totally pissed off and called Duke a mentally retarted , they also warned him not to do suck pranks with the cops or else he would be behind the bars . It was a great shock to both Duke ans Zyan to realize that the dead bodies were no more there . Duke told Zyan that the other opening of that room came out into Rozy's backyard and I really doubt her for doing something wrong . Zyan mocked his dad and said , " Rozy is a  handicapped and how can she do anything that's wrong . Dad I am extremely frightened by the things we saw . I need to go to sleep and today I will sleep in your room . I know Mom and Mek are already there , but I would make my bed on the floor . You do whatever you want to ". Zyan left to Duke's room where his mom and his younger sister (4 year old) were already sleeping . On the other hand Duke went to check Rozy and he decided to keep a watch on her . He entered her bungalow and peeped into the living room where he couldn't find Rozy there . Duke was already in fear due to the incidence and soon he spotted some shadow on the ground which probably fell from the terrace of Rozy's bungalow . He shouted very loudly all at once and laid down to the ground with extreme fear with some chants in his lips . He thought someone would hear him and that would hinder his work . Then he himself realised that his voice may not go out of the bungalow and since Rozy is deaf , she could not hear him . Then he advanced to Rozy's bedroom and peeped there again, but could not find Rozy again . He decided to go upstairs to Rozy's terrace as she saw that shadow coming in from there but before going there he could see Rozy sitting in her living room on her sofa , with extreme ease . Duke was extremely startled to hear the music being played by Rozy when she could not even hear . The music was not even smooth and soft which may be pleasing , but it was rough and haunted . Another surprise for Duke was that , Rozy sitting in her couch spoke to someone in her sign language . Duke checked whether there was anybody else , but there was no one . Still she continued doing that . Duke was totally sweating out of fear and now he decided to go back home and have a sound sleep and try to forget everything . While going back his  leg slipped over a smooth surface which to shock was a door again . Duke opened the door and could find the same room and from there the stacks of dead bodies were directly seen . Yes ! They were again there . With a frightening thunderbolt Duke shut that door with full energy and started crying due to an immense mental pressure. He went back to his home and locked  his house from inside .He rushed swiftly to the bathroom and had a shower . At the start , it showered water but some time later the water stopped . Suddenly , there started voices coming from the shower . It was like people screaming and it was a miscellaneous noise . He then again got frightened and didn't know what to do . He did not open the bathroom door and even closed the window which was open . He then listened to the voices carefully and it sounded like , " Mek , baby what is wrong ? What are you doing ? Keep that knife away ! " ... These sounds were familiar to Duke and seemed like a mixture of Zyan's and his wife's voice . He realised that there may be something wrong happening outside . Wasting no time , he opened the latch of the bathroom door but it was not opening though he had opened from inside.  He thought that someone may have locked from outside . He knocked at the door and called for his wife . His wife replied that the door is open from outside and Mek was acting weird . She was sitting on Zyan's chest with a butcher's knife in her hand and she said Zyan that , " I will kill you . I want to eat your blood . I want your heart ." These chants of Mek made everyone crazy that a four year kid who had just learnt alphabets can speak such dangerous statements . All of them including Duke inside the bathroom was also afraid  with this . Duke's wife ran towards the bathroom door and tried to open it , but unfortunately it didn't open at all . Softly and swiftly Duke's wife asked , " Duke , where have you both been ? Everything was alright no ? I could sense you hit something wrong . Tell me what is it ?" Duke narrated the complete story to his wife and she was stunned too . Out of sheer anger she screamed , " I doubted that bloody Rozy from when she had come here . She isn't deaf and sukh . She is pretending . There is something deep behind her innocent face . Didn't I tell you before ? " Duke replied, " Yes , I can now trust you , she was listening to music but she was also talking to someone in sign language . I am really confused . " "What ? You went there ? Why ? Then I am pretty sure she was acting before you to show " , said his wife . Duke again , " Leave that what do we do now , think that !" Mek was still on Zyan's chest . Suddenly Duke's wife's attention fell on the bracelet in Zyan's hand which she had never seen before with him . In the whole mess she asked Zyan about the bracelet . Zyan told her that he had gotten the bracelet in the room underneath where they had stuck . In extreme anger , she rushed to the Zyan's bed and with full courage she snatched the bracelet from his hand and threw outside of the window . The bracelet went directly in the Rozy's bungalow through one of the windows . As soon as she threw the bracelet out , Mek sat back down as started crying loudly . The bathroom door also opened and Duke came out . Zyan , out of a mental pressure and fear became unconscious . He was brought to consciousness some time later and things were back to normal . When they all were about to sleep they could hear  loud noises from Rozy's house which probably was Rozy's noise itself . Duke's wife got up , closed the window from where the sound was heard and they all went to sleep .
